Fall Protection Training FAQ
Is fall protection training legally required in BC?
Yes. WorkSafeBC OHS Regulation Part 11.3 requires every worker exposed to a fall hazard of 3 metres or more to be trained in the use of the fall protection system before they’re exposed. Untrained workers cannot legally be assigned to such tasks.
How long does fall protection certification last?
Most BC employers require refresher training every 3 years, though WorkSafeBC requires retraining whenever there’s a change in work conditions, equipment, or if the worker shows knowledge gaps. We’ll send a reminder before your certificate expires.
How long is the fall protection course?
Our standard fall protection course runs 6-8 hours including practical assessment. Half-day refresher courses are also available for already-certified workers.
Do you provide the harness and equipment for training?
Yes — full body harnesses, lanyards, anchor systems, and lifelines are provided for the practical portion. Many employers also have us inspect their existing equipment as part of the training.
Can you come to our BC jobsite for fall protection training?
