What You Will Learn in This Course
The Basic/Emergency First Aid training in Burnaby is an 8-hour training program at Mainland Safety's Canada Way campus, certified by the Canadian Red Cross. You will learn CPR and AED for adults, children, and infants, choking response, severe bleeding control, shock management, anaphylaxis response, and how to identify heart attack and stroke warning signs. Previously called Emergency First Aid with CPR/AED Level C, the program has been renamed Basic/Emergency First Aid under the CSA Z1210 standard.
Mainland Safety's instructors use hands-on, scenario-based training with professional equipment so you leave confident and ready to act. Your Canadian Red Cross first aid certification is valid for three years and also recognized by WorkSafeBC as equivalent to OFA Level 1. To pass, you must demonstrate all required skills and score at least 75 percent on the written evaluation.
