The Basic/Emergency First Aid course in Surrey is an 8-hour, in-class training program certified by the Canadian Red Cross. This one-day course includes CPR and AED training for adults, children, and infants, along with choking response, severe bleeding control, shock management, anaphylaxis response, and breathing emergency care. Previously known as Emergency First Aid with CPR/AED Level C, the program has been renamed Basic/Emergency First Aid to align with the CSA Z1210 national standard. The course content and three-year certification remain unchanged.
At Mainland Safety's Surrey campus, our experienced instructors use hands-on, scenario-based training to help you build real confidence. You will practise on professional manikins and AED trainers, learning to identify heart attack and stroke warning signs, manage wounds and burns, and assess injured persons before help arrives. This course is also recognized by WorkSafeBC as equivalent to OFA Level 1. To pass, you must demonstrate all required skills and score at least 75 percent on the written evaluation.
