Emergency Childcare First Aid CPR/AED Level B
Emergency Child Care First Aid with CPR/AED Level B is a one-day course designed by the Canadian Red Cross. Basic one-day course designed to introduce caregivers to injury prevention skills and knowledge. Course covers lifesaving first aid skills and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR and AED) for children, and babies. Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial early childhood education and day care worker safety requirements.

1. What are the class hours for Emergency Child Care?
This course is an 8-hour program with breaks.
2. Are late arrivals acceptable?
Late arrivals are not acceptable under any circumstances. You should arrive in class at least 15 minutes before the start time to fill out paperwork.
3. What is the passing percentage?
To pass the exam, you need to get 75%.

6. Are there age requirements to Emergency Child Care?
Yes, you must be 16 years or older to attend.
7. Do I need any experience prior to taking Emergency Child Care?
No prior experience is necessary as this course is designed for beginners.
8. Can you send me the price quote?
Yes, please provide your email of choice and the quote will be sent.
9. Can I bring pets to Emergency Child Care?
Under no circumstances should there be pets in the classroom. Exceptions are only made for certified service dogs.
10. Can I leave the training early?
No, to receive your certification, you must complete the full 8-hour course.
11. Can I leave the classroom for 30 minutes and come back to continue the class?
No, to receive your certification, you must complete the full 8-hour course.
12. What happens if I miss the class or don’t ask for a refund in time?
If you miss the class or fail to ask for a refund in a timely manner, you will not be able to get a refund of any kind.
13. What is the refund policy?
You can cancel or reschedule a minimum of 5 business days prior to the course. For this you can contact us via email: info@mainlandsafety.ca or by phone: (604) 617-0211. Business days exclude all statutory holidays in British Columbia and weekends.
14. Is there a fee for refunds even if I request one 5 business days before?
Yes, all refunds are subject to an administrative fee equal to 5% of the courses face value.
15. Will I receive a certificate upon completing the course?
Yes, you will be issued a certificate if you complete and pass the course.
16. How long is the certification for Emergency Child Care valid for?
The certification for ECC is valid for 3 years from the date of completion. After 3 years you will need to retake the full course to get recertified.
17. Can I take a renewal class after my certificate expires?
There are no renewal courses available for Emergency Child Care at Mainland Safety. To receive a new certificate a student must retake and pass the course.
18. Can I take Emergency Child Care online?
No, we only offer in person classes at Mainland Safety.
19. Do I need to bring anything to the course?
Just yourself and one government issued picture ID.
20. Is Emergency Child Care recognized outside of BC?
Yes, the Emergency Child Care certification is valid throughout Canada.
21. What language is this course taught in?
This course is taught exclusively in English.
22. Are there prerequisites to this class?
There are no prerequisites to ECC
