Foodsafe Level 1 In Surrey- Via Zoom / Video Conferencing

Outline

Food-safe Level 1 via zoom/videoconferencing course with an in-person exam. Participants will do the online class (via Zoom/Videoconferencing). This will be an online class for approx. 7 hours.

FOODSAFE Level 1 is a food handling, sanitation and work safety course designed for front line food service workers such as cooks, servers, bussers, dishwashers, and deli workers. The course covers important food safety and worker safety information including food borne illness, receiving and storing food, preparing food, serving food, cleaning and sanitizing. The BC Health Act: Food Premises Regulation states that every operator of a food service establishment, and at least one employee on every shift, must hold a FOODSAFE Level 1 certificate, or certificate from a course recognized as equivalent to FOODSAFE.

Language Options

Course instructions will be in English, but exams are available in Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Punjabi, Spanish, Tagalog, and Vietnamese.

Course Fee

$70 + GST includes certificates, and wallet card (You will be responsible for buying your workbook).

Certification

Students must achieve 70% or more on the written multiple-choice examination. Upon successful completion, students will be issued a temporary Foodsafe Level 1 certificate valid as of the day of examination and ready for immediate use while awaiting your official certificate from the Fraser Health. This certification expires after 5 years.

Exam

Participants will come to our location to write their exam monitored by your course instructor.

Faq

1. What time is the class?
The class runs from 9am to 5pm. Please be at least 15 minutes early as the class begins promptly at 9am or set up your laptop or desktop for online course.
2. When will I receive my certificate?
Upon the successful completion of your exam in the class, you will receive a temporary certificate on the class date.
3. Is my temporary certificate valid?
Yes, your temporary certificate is valid for up to 3 months.
4. When will I receive my wall and wallet certificate?
Your certificate will arrive approximately 9-11 weeks from your class date. Mainland Safety receives them from Fraser Health and mails them out to all the students as soon as they receive them.
5. Do people fail in food safe level 1 course?
Yes you need to achieve minimum 70 % to pass the course.
6. Would I get a chance to rewrite?
Yes only if you score in between 60 – 68 %.
7. Can I use my cell phone to take the online course?
Yes, as long as you have webcam available on the cell phone.
8. Is webcam, mandatory to take this course?

Yes, because instructor will interact with you during the course and make sure you are the right person, who has registered to take the course and it is the requirement by Fraser Health Authority.
