Outline:
The Construction Safety Officer Training program continues from the Trade Safety Coordinator program to provide students with a deeper understanding of the specifics of safety and hands-on skills. We will look at specific parts of the OHS Regulation and specific sections of the WCA to ensure that our students are knowledgeable when going to a worksite and are able to deal with topics such as Fall Protection, Confined Space, Electrical Safety and Occupational Hygiene.

Cost
Participants will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the course, valid for a specified period, typically three years.

Certification
Certification requires full participation and course attendance. Candidates must demonstrate practical skill competency and achieve 75% in their assignments and 75% on the exam.
Upon successful completion of the program, participants are able to apply for the professional designation CSO(P) with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC (ASTTBC). The program also counts for 5 credits (2.5/week) towards the BCCSP professional development or application.

Course Length
