CSA Z1220-17 L1 Kit + tourniquet + PPE
These supplies must be maintained clean and dry and ready to transport to the scene of an accident. With the exception of blankets, all things should be stored in a weatherproof container. Blankets should be readily available for the first aid personnel.
WorkSafeBC – Level 1 First-Aid Kit Contents
This first aid kit holds the minimum required content that an employer needs to provide to:
- 1 Synthetic Blankets
- 24 BZK Wipes (Individual) 14 cm x 19 cm Wound cleaning towelettes, individually packaged
- 50 Assorted Bandages (Individual Package) sterile adhesive dressings, assorted sizes
- 10 Sterile 10cm (4″) (Individual) 10 cm x 10 cm sterile gauze dressings, individually packaged
- 4 Compress with Ties 10 cm x 16.5 cm sterile pressure dressings with crepe ties
- 2 Triangular Cloth cotton triangular bandages, minimum length of base 1.25 m
- 1 White Adhesive Tape 5cm (2″) (Individual) 5 cm x 4.5 m rolls of adhesive tape
- 2 Conform Gauze Roll (3″) 7.5 cm X 4 m conforming gauze bandages
- 2 Crepes 7.5 cm x 4.5 m crepe roller bandages
- 1 Bandage Scissors 14 cm stainless steel bandage scissors or universal scissors
- 1 Tweezers 11.5 cm stainless steel sliver tweezers
- 2 Zap Straps / Quick Straps / Fracture Straps Quick straps (a.k.a. fracture straps or zap straps)
- 1 Windlass Tourniquet
- 1 Pocket Mask (in hard case) pocket mask with a one-way valve and oxygen inlet
- 6 Vinyl Gloves (Powder Free) (One) pair of medical gloves (preferably non-latex)
- 6 Blue, 3 Ply Disposable Face Mask Surgical masks
- 2 Safety Glasses (clear) Face shields (or safety eyewear)
- 1 Bio Hazard Bag Waterproof Waste Bag
One blanket is needed to fulfil WorkSafeBC’s criteria for a Level 1 Kit.
