FOODSAFE Level 1 Training: Essential for Food Service Workers
As a food service worker, your job is not only to prepare and serve food, but also to ensure that it is safe for consumption. That’s why the FOODSAFE Level 1 training is essential for all front line food service workers, including cooks, servers, bussers, dishwashers, and deli workers.
At Mainland Safety Training Company, we offer a convenient and accessible way to complete the FOODSAFE Level 1 course through Zoom/videoconferencing. The course is approximately 7 hours long and includes an in-person exam. Upon successful completion, students will be issued a temporary FOODSAFE Level 1 certificate that is valid for immediate use while awaiting the official certificate from the Fraser Health.
What is Covered in the FOODSAFE Level 1 Course?
The FOODSAFE Level 1 course covers important food safety and worker safety information. It includes topics such as food borne illness, receiving and storing food, preparing food, serving food, cleaning, and sanitizing. These topics are crucial for anyone working in the food service industry to understand in order to ensure that the food they serve is safe for consumption.
At Mainland Safety Training Company, we understand that English may not be the first language for everyone. That’s why we offer exams in a variety of languages, including Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Punjabi, Spanish, Tagalog, and Vietnamese. However, please note that course instructions will be in English.

The exam for the FOODSAFE Level 1 course will be administered in person at one of our Mainland Safety Training Company locations. The exam will be monitored by your course instructor to ensure that it is conducted in a fair and secure manner.
In order to receive the FOODSAFE Level 1 certification, students must achieve a minimum score of 70% on the multiple-choice exam. Upon successful completion, students will be issued a temporary Foodsafe Level 1 certificate that is valid as of the day of examination and ready for immediate use while awaiting your official certificate from the Fraser Health. This certification is valid for 5 years.
