Psychological First Aid

This course helps participants develop a personal understanding of how stress, loss, trauma, and grief impact individuals, with a focus on self-care and personal protection. It introduces the Red Cross Look, Listen, Link, Live model, which is designed to enhance emotional, psychological, and social well-being. This model teaches participants how to support themselves and others in coping with the effects of various stresses. The course primarily uses case-based learning and incorporates the latest evidence from the global community.

While mental health first aid programs focus on assisting individuals in mental health emergencies, Red Cross Psychological First Aid is a resiliency-oriented program applicable to everyone. It provides prevention and coping strategies to manage different types of stress resulting from various traumatic experiences.

About the course

Course Duration

  • Total Duration: 45-90 minutes of online learning, followed by 7 hours of in-class instruction.
  • Note: Access to online materials will be provided upon registration, and completion of these materials is required before attending the in-class session.
