Basic Security Training (BST) is a 40-hour course that adheres to the standard curriculum. Students will learn the fundamentals of private security, as well as the rights and obligations of a security professional, as well as reporting requirements and personal safety techniques.

Our BST instructors/trainers are Justice Institute of BC-approved security professionals. They will provide you with practical, real-world insights that can help you thrive in your new career.

Basic Security Training (BST) informs pupils about the roles and responsibilities of a security guard. Participants will learn the fundamentals of private security, including a security professional’s rights and responsibilities, reporting requirements, and personal safety techniques.

• Duration: 40 hours of in-class instruction
• Price: $275 Plus GST (5%)
• Language of instruction – English.

Students must complete a 100-question multiple-choice exam at the end of the course. To pass, you must score at least 60% on the exam. You will receive a BST certificate once you have completed the course.

After passing the exam, the student is responsible for paying the license fee.
